What are some common challenges faced by professionals in Remote Post Merger Integration roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in Remote Post Merger Integration (PMI) roles often face challenges such as coordinating cross-functional teams across different time zones, ensuring effective communication between merging organizations, and aligning disparate corporate cultures. These challenges can be addressed by leveraging robust project management tools, establishing clear communication protocols, and scheduling regular virtual check-ins with stakeholders. Additionally, focusing on cultural integration through virtual workshops and open forums can help build trust and streamline collaboration in a remote environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Post Merger Integration (PMI) Specialist, and why are they important?

Job description

Company Overview

At Motorola Solutions, we believe that everything starts with our people. We're a global close-knit community, united by the relentless pursuit to help keep people safer everywhere. We build and connect technologies to help protect people, property and places. Our solutions foster the collaboration that's critical for safer communities, safer schools, safer hospitals, safer businesses, and ultimately, safer nations. Connect with a career that matters, and help us build a safer future.

Department OverviewWould you like to become a part of a company that uses the newest technology platforms in communications, software, video and services? Do you want to work with people who help save other people's lives? Do you consider yourself to be a creative thinker and complex problem solver? If the answer is yes, join our rapidly expanding IT team.
Our IT organization isn't just here to support our business. We're here to reinvent it - by changing the way our customers, partners, and employees interact with our company. To do that, we're looking for people who bring great ideas and who make our partners' ideas better. Intellectually curious advisors (not order takers) who focus on outcomes to creatively solve business problems. People who not only embrace change but who accelerate it.
Job Description

We're looking for a high-velocity Data Strategist to serve as the 'Value Architect' for our global M&A engine. This isn't just about moving tables-it's about building the financial and technical blueprint that scales our data ecosystem every time we bring a new company into the fold. Reporting directly to the Head of Enterprise Data Intelligence, you'll own the end-to-end integration roadmap, from modeling Day-1 migration costs to negotiating the long-term prioritization of BI and Master Data workstreams with business leads. If you're a data-fluent MBA or consultant who wants to sit at the intersection of Growth, Finance, and Enterprise Tech, this is your chance to drive the strategy behind our most high-profile acquisitions.

Acquisition Backlog & Prioritization: Act as the primary liaison between the Enterprise Data Intelligence team and business unit leaders to manage the M&A integration queue. You will:

  • Facilitate the "intake" of new data integration requests.

  • Rank and prioritize the backlog of acquired entities for DWH, BI, and MDM integration based on business impact, technical readiness, and resource capacity.

Integration Financial Modeling: Develop the comprehensive "Cost-to-Integrate" models. You will forecast hosting expenses, licensing, and labor costs for migrating acquired data into our Enterprise Data Warehouse, Master Data Models, and Business Intelligence tools.

Phased Roadmap Orchestration: Drive the "Data Playbook" for all new acquisitions:

  • Immediate DWH migration and infrastructure cost-modeling.

  • Alignment of BI tools and reporting standards.

  • Master Data Management (MDM) integration following data profiling and cleansing.

Budgetary Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for the Head of EDI to ensure all M&A data work is accurately represented in the broader IT budget and corporate due diligence estimates.

Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to track integration milestones and adjust financial forecasts as application landscapes change.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.

  • Advanced Degree: MBA from a top-tier business school is highly preferred.

  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in Consulting, Corporate Strategy, FP&A, Data Operations, Private Equity, or related fields.

  • M&A Exposure: Prior experience in due diligence, post-merger integration (PMI), or working within a Private Equity portfolio company.

  • Technical Literacy: Familiarity with modern data stack tools and the ability to interpret data profiling results. (AWS, SQL, Tableau, etc)

  • Financial Modeling: Demonstrated experience building complex financial models (TCO, ROI, or Budget Forecasting).

  • Data Lifecycle Knowledge: Functional understanding of the journey from raw data to business value (Data Warehousing, BI/Reporting, and MDM).

  • Strategic Prioritization: Experience using Value-Based Prioritization frameworks to manage a large project backlog or product roadmap.

  • Industry Background: Experience in IT within a high-growth or acquisitive organization.

  • Data Lifecycle Knowledge: Functional understanding of the journey from raw data to business value (Data Warehousing, BI/Reporting, and MDM).

  • Project Leadership: Proven track record of managing cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines.

  • Communication: Exceptional ability to translate technical data concepts into business-friendly language for executive-level presentations.

Target Base Salary Range:$130,000 USD - $150,000 USD
