Job description

One Tech Engineering is searching for a Project Manager for a position located in Amarillo, Texas, though open to remote employees who can travel up to 25% of the time. The Project Manager will support transmission-side capital projects within a regulated utility environment.

The candidate must be a US citizen or hold a green card. The candidate should have 5+ years of related project management experience in regulated utility environments, particularly electric transmission projects.

Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the internal project lead, working closely with EPC partners responsible for engineering and construction execution.
  • Manage projects from planning and initiation through construction and closeout.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, and key milestones to ensure successful delivery.
  • Coordinate with EPC partners to gather project updates and address risks, issues, and project needs.
  • Partner with cost management teams on budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking activities.
  • Work with schedulers to maintain project schedules and support timeline management.
  • Prepare project status updates and executive-level reports for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Track project progress and milestone completion throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and key updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support cross-functional coordination to keep projects moving forward and aligned with business objectives.

Requirements of the Project Manager:

  • Minimum 5 years of related project management experience in regulated utility environments, particularly electric transmission projects.
  • Experience working within an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) model.
  • Ability to manage full project lifecycle (initiation through close-out preferred).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with linear infrastructure projects, especially electric transmission projects, is highly preferred.
  • Experience with SAP, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, and forecasting tools (e.g., TamCasting or similar) is preferred.
  • PMP certification is a strong plus.
  • PE license is also nice to have.
