Job Description
This role is ideal for an early-career engineer with a strong computer science foundation who is eager to grow into modern test automation. The Junior Automation Engineer will work closely with senior automation architects, developers, and product teams to build in-sprint automated tests for cloud-native applications. This role emphasizes learning, hands-on coding, and adopting AI-assisted development tools while contributing to scalable automation in AWS-based systems.
Responsibilities:
  • Write and maintain automated test cases under guidance from senior engineers
  • Pair with developers to automate test scenarios within the same sprint
  • Assist in API and microservices test automation
  • Learn and apply AI-assisted coding tools to speed up development
  • Contribute to CI/CD test execution and smoke/regression runs
  • Participate in story grooming and understand testability early
  • Gradually grow from executing tests to designing automation components
Must Haves:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 3-4+ years of experience (or strong academic + internship experience)
  • Programming experience in Java or Python (TypeScript a plus)
  • Foundational understanding of automation concepts (even if not deeply experienced)
  • Interest in or early exposure to AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, etc.)
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum and willingness to work in-sprint
  • Comfort collaborating with developers and learning test frameworks
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and curiosity about "how systems break"
