Job description

Position Purpose

The Neurology Clinical Program Coordinator-RN is a registered nurse with expertise in neurology, epilepsy, memory disorders, quality management, and outpatient clinical program coordination. This fully remote position is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of epilepsy and memory clinic programs within the outpatient neurology service line.

The position supports multidisciplinary coordination of care, quality improvement initiatives, regulatory and accreditation readiness, and program development aligned with organizational strategic goals. The role plays a key part in supporting the organization’s efforts to attain and maintain Level 4 accreditation through the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC) and supports quality and safety initiatives related to memory disorder treatment programs. Responsibilities include oversight of program metrics, regulatory compliance, MRI surveillance coordination, ARIA tracking, infusion safety workflows, patient education, adverse-event reporting, and collaboration across neurology, radiology, infusion services, pharmacy, and ancillary departments. The position serves as a clinical and operational resource for a complex neurological patient population and supports performance improvement activities across the continuum of care.

This position is fully remote and utilizes electronic medical records, registry databases, telehealth platforms, and virtual collaboration tools to support patient coordination, quality initiatives, and program operations. Occasional onsite attendance may be required for meetings, accreditation activities, or organizational needs.

Nature and Scope

Program Leadership

• Develops and supports operational and strategic goals for epilepsy and memory clinic programs in alignment with organizational objectives and accreditation standards.

• Coordinates multidisciplinary care processes, clinical protocols, workflow improvements, and quality initiatives across the continuum of neurological care.

• Supports NAEC Level 4 accreditation readiness, regulatory compliance activities, and program performance monitoring.

• Coordinates MRI surveillance and ARIA tracking workflows for patients receiving memory disorder therapies.

• Assists with development and standardization of infusion safety workflows and monitoring processes.

• Collaborate with neurology, radiology, infusion services, pharmacy, and ancillary departments to ensure coordinated patient care.

• Oversee program metrics, quality data collection, audits, benchmarking, and reporting activities.

• Participates in operational planning, performance improvement initiatives, and approved clinical research activities.

• Serves as a clinical and operational resource for staff caring for epilepsy and memory disorder patients.

Program Performance

• Monitors clinical processes, quality outcomes, and patient safety indicators related to epilepsy and memory clinic services.

• Tracks and reports epilepsy program metrics required for NAEC accreditation and organizational quality initiatives.

• Facilitate data collection, audits, case reviews, and adverse-event reporting activities.

• Identifies opportunities to improve patient outcomes, operational efficiency, care coordination, and regulatory compliance.

• Research evidence-based best practices and supports implementation of process improvements.

• Coordinates patient follow-up, education, and continuity of care activities.

Education and Outreach

• Serves as a key patient and family resource for education, coordination, and treatment plan support.

• Develops patient education materials related to epilepsy, seizure safety, infusion therapies, MRI surveillance, ARIA monitoring, and memory disorders.

• Provides virtual education and support to staff and multidisciplinary teams.

• Participates in multidisciplinary meetings, accreditation activities, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Supports community and organizational education initiatives related to neurological care programs.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical setting is required. Experience in a specialty practice is preferred.

License(s):

Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered Nurse license.

Certification(s):

Neuroscience, epilepsy, or quality certification preferred.

Computer / Typing:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
