Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Remote Mental Health Counselor, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing personalized virtual mental health services that cater to the individual needs of clients, utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques and interventions.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify clientsโ€™ goals, challenges, and areas of growth.
  • Employing cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and other evidence-based modalities to support clients in managing stress, anxiety, and personal challenges.
  • Facilitating group therapy sessions, when appropriate, to foster community support and shared experiences.
  • Collaborating with fellow counselors and staff to enhance service offerings, improve clinical outcomes, and share best practices.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of client progress and treatment plans in accordance with organizational policies and state regulations.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your clientele will encompass a diverse demographic, including individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health challenges. You will work with clients from various cultural backgrounds and life experiences, necessitating a personalized approach to therapy that honors their unique perspectives and needs.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Active licensure in California as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or the ability to obtain licensure shortly.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience providing therapeutic services to individuals, families, or groups.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients from all walks of life.
  • A strong commitment to cultural sensitivity and providing affirming care for all individuals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, complemented by a collaborative mindset.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience in teletherapy, group counseling, and specialized therapeutic modalities (such as trauma-informed care or mindfulness techniques) will be highly regarded. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is also a plus.
