The New Pattern Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and evaluations through timely initial consultations and ongoing sessions.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New Jersey.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with electronic health record systems, with a preference for experience with AVATAR.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills that cultivate trust and empathy with clients.
  • In-depth understanding of the intersection between mental health and physical health, including common co-occurring disorders.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a licensed capacity with a focus on individual and group therapy.
  • Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical guidelines.
  • Experience working with clients facing addiction and other behavioral challenges.
  • Knowledge of medication management principles and the effects of prescribed drugs relevant to mental health treatment.
