Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine client needs, focusing on understanding the severity, duration, and frequency of mood disorder symptoms.
  • Create individualized treatment plans in partnership with clients, integrating their specific recovery goals and preferences into therapeutic strategies.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapy modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to guide treatment interventions.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, providing essential information on treatment options, coping strategies, and self-care practices.
  • Regularly monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes and address any emerging challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other medical professionals to provide integrated care, facilitating comprehensive treatment for clients.
  • Stay informed on the latest research and developments related to mood disorders, applying this knowledge to enhance treatment efficacy.

Qualifications
  • Masterโ€™s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and active licensure as an LCSW-C, LCMFT, LMFT, or LCPC in the state of Maryland.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based practices such as CBT and DBT.
