Location: UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion, US:CO: Aurora

Department: Metro Perioperative Business Team

Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)  

Shift: Days 

Pay: 20.87 - 27.13 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary:
Coordinates all aspects of surgery scheduling.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedules inpatient and outpatient surgical appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.
  • Coordinates with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities, surgeon, staff and equipment.
  • Communicates with patients and/or their families to provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and to confirm appointments.
  • Performs insurance verification and/or pre-authorizations as necessary.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED.
    Minimum Experience: None required.
