Company Description

PRN INC. PC (Positive Reinforcement Nursing) is a North Carolina-based professional corporation that provides after-hours assistance to physicians by managing patient calls with care and professionalism.

Founded in 1996 by Wendy Smith, MSN/MBA, Esquire and Shelley Rogers, RN, PRN was born from the shared vision of two dedicated nurses who met while working in a Labor and Delivery unit. After years of long commutes, twelve-hour shifts, and growing family responsibilities, they sought a more flexible way to continue serving the nursing profession. With faith in God and support from local physicians, their vision became reality—and PRN INC. PC was established to provide reliable, compassionate triage services.

Today, PRN INC. PC is the largest privately owned triage company in North Carolina, employing over 50 experienced nurses. We proudly serve more than 170 practices, multiple hospitals, universities, and health departments, working with over 1,800 providers across five states: North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia. We are available in all nursing compact states, continuing our mission to deliver exceptional patient care and support to physicians after hours.
