Job description

Position:       Senior Staff Accountant
Location:      Syracuse (Liverpool), NY (Remote) 
Salary:          75k – 85k
Growing boutique CPA firm seeks Senior Staff Accountant to join their team.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all accounting matters in a section of 40-60 clients monthly in a dedicated and professional manner.
  • Manage traditional Accountant duties including bank reconciliations and reporting.
  • Monitor payroll production & processing.
  • Hire, coach, mentor, train & manage Bookkeepers assigned.
  • Conduct weekly work status/production meetings to review work completed and discuss any other issues.
  • Maintain client and process correspondence regarding reporting, registrations & incorporating.
  • Handling all tax matters for clients and authorities. This includes preparing returns (business & personal), maintaining logs (production details & time vs. fees) and processing.
  • Review & distribute final returns to clients, handling correspondence from taxing authorities & tax questions from clients.
  • Process the 13th month for each client.
  • Analyze financial statements & handle cash flow projections.
  • Manage loan applications.
  • Serve as a liaison to accounting/tax & production software vendors.
  • Serve as liaison with company IT consultants managing software updates & conversions.
  • Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience working for public CPA firm or similar .
  • Knowledge & experience preparing and filing tax returns.
  • Believe in the “small business” ideal
