• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments of patients and their families to identify key emotional and social factors relating to their health condition and overall well-being.
• Design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive treatment plans using evidence-based interventions, tailored to the unique situation of each client.
• Facilitate discharge planning by collaborating with healthcare providers, communication with families, and engaging with third-party payers to ensure a smooth transition from hospital to home.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families, addressing adaptation strategies related to illness, treatment, and life circumstances.
• Utilize crisis intervention techniques and therapeutic modalities, such as brief and long-term individual and group therapy, to support patients facing acute challenges.
• Participate in on-call rotations, providing timely responses to after-hours patient needs or emergencies.
• If necessary, facilitate involuntary examinations under the Baker Act, ensuring appropriate transfers to receiving facilities when needed.
• Share expertise by presenting at educational conferences, contributing to the professional development of peers in psychosocial oncology practices.
• Engage with community resources through education, advocacy, and volunteering, supporting the broader needs of cancer survivors.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Desert View Psychiatry PC, you will serve a diverse population, primarily focusing on individuals impacted by mental health issues alongside chronic health conditions such as cancer. • A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) is required; a Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) and LICSW licensure is mandatory.

• Strong understanding of mental health assessment tools and therapeutic interventions.
• Proficient in crisis intervention, treatment planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

• Experience working with cancer patients or individuals facing life-altering diagnoses.
• Prior involvement in community health initiatives or educational outreach programs.
• Familiarity with telehealth practices and electronic health record systems.
