Fully Remote Position! Excellent Compensation and Benefits!

National law firm has an immediate opening for a Patent Agent who will work with the Intellectual Property team. We require at least four years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in wireless communication (including 5G/6G connectivity and WLAN/Wif-Fi) as well as software and machine learning/artificial intelligence technologies. Experience with medical device technologies, gaming technologies and smart data capture is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities of staff designated as a Patent Agent at the Firm include, but are not limited to:

1. Reviewing invention disclosure documents, and conducting/participating in invention disclosure meetings;

2. Drafting patent applications;

3. Reviewing Official Communications from the USPTO and foreign patent offices, recommending response strategies, conducting examiner interviews, and drafting responses.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities Required:

1. Possess a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related physical science or engineering discipline;

2. Have at least four (4) years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications, with the ability to hit the ground running on a growing, fast-paced docket;

3. Have experience in at least the aforementioned wireless communications, software, and medical device technologies;

4. Provide writing samples reflecting excellent writing skills;

5. Exhibit professionalism/good communication skills with demanding clients, exercise attention to detail, and balance various client responsibilities;

6. Have the ability to work effectively with other team members.

7. Prior work experience in a law firm strongly preferred.
