JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Department of Supply Chain and Information Systems at Penn State University Park invites applications for a part-time research assistant with an anticipated start in May 2026. The successful candidate will assist Dr. Fan Zou for up to 10 hours per week during the summer semester.

Job Duties:

  • Assist with data preparation and cleaningby collecting organizing research data, evaluation records, and related project materials, and by cleaning, formatting, and maintaining datasets for analysis.
  • Support coding and data analysisby documenting coding results accurately, tracking key evaluation dimensions such as novelty, clarity, feasibility, and overall quality, and helping identify patterns in both structured and unstructured data.
  • Conduct literature reviews and support report writingrelated to sourcing. Strong understanding of sourcing and procurement concepts. Completion of SCM 406 is preferred.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of SCM 406 at Penn State or similar institution

Compensation:

Starting rate for this position is $16.00 per hour.
