MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Acquisition Software Engineer to join our team in Stafford, VA.
This position is integrated in the Program Management Office and focused on DoD 5000, acquisition lifecycle compliance. This is a remote, part-time-on-call position that requires an active DoD TS/SCI clearance. The level of effort will not exceed 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Provide technical expertise in research and development, acquisition and sustainment of innovative tactical intelligence collection, processing, and dissemination equipment.
  • Support engineering activities and programmatic milestones through the development and review of engineering documentation (System Engineering Plans, Test and Evaluation Master Plans, Interface Control Documents, System Specifications, etc.) and requirements documentation, System Engineering Technical Review briefing materials, configuration management activities and program schedules.
  • Provide technical support, coordination, and recommendations to the Government Project Office using general software development, system design, system development life cycle principles and/or requirements analysis.
  • Review detailed technical studies, conduct analysis of current and future requirements relating to design, all phases of testing and fielding, and mission effectiveness.
  • Support and participate in systems engineering technical reviews (systems requirements review, preliminary and critical design reviews, integration readiness reviews, and system acceptance reviews) through documentation preparation, analysis of criteria, and preparation of briefing materials.
  • Interface with the Program Office to manage engineering tasks, provide subject matter expertise in acquisition engineering best practices, and analyze technical problems. Develop courses of action and recommend solutions for presentation to leadership.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, support proposal efforts, and facilitate completion of engineering activities and transfer of information resulting in technical successes for the program.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 10 years of related experience as a software engineer. Additional 2 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with DoD 5000 processes and requirements.
  • The experience should show increasing responsibility in development or maintenance of software, system development, system design, and/or information networks.
  • Experience in at least four of the following: Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, databases, HTML, GIS/geospatial systems, service-oriented architecture, agile development, repository management, code reviews, defect triage, release coordination
  • Proven experience with C4ISR systems
  • Must be able to travel up to 30% per year.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise with TAK API and coding , SDR command-and-control, JSDR, CED, MIDB, IBS, MEPED, MINOTAUR, SDR radio data
  • Knowledge of DoD/USMC garrison and tactical environments.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, network/systems design and implementation, virtualization and cloud technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
  • DAU Engineering (or related field) Level I or higher certification is preferred.
  • Prior military experience.
  • Agile SCRUM Master.

Clearance Requirements:
  • An active DoD TS/SCI is required for this position

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.

The projected compensation range for this position is $150,900.00-$268,500.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
