Position Summary: Our Donor Marketing Manager is responsible for establishing donor marketing strategies that drive prospects and encourage acquisition of donors, aligning work with the overarching goals and objectives of the Nexus Foundation for Family Healing. In close collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team and the Foundation Team, the Donor Marketing Manager will lead strategies that identify potential donors and promote first-time giving campaigns, execute annual giving campaigns and manage core donor communications such as newsletters, welcome packets, annual reports.


Primary responsibilities:

Engagement and Acquisition

  • Develop and implement engagement strategies for identifying and engaging potential donors.
  • Develop and execute first-time-donor focused fundraising campaigns.
  • Utilizing data, testing and best practices identify donor attributes and implement tactics that bring prospects further down the funnel of giving.

Annual Giving Campaigns

  • Develop annual giving strategies focused on first-year givers and on renewal of core donor base using various tactics such as direct mail, online and peer-to-peer fundraising.
  • Works closely with Donor Services Director to review data and adjust plans regarding renewal of support and increased support from existing donors and re-activate lapsed supporters.
  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing Manager and Sr. Communications Manager to execute campaigns across marketing platforms and establish consistent presence for foundation activities.

Donor Communications

  • Leads the development of core fundraising materials and engagement tools such as newsletters, reports, presentations, emails, welcome packets, employee-giving materials.
  • Actively works to identify youth success stories. Articulates and shares the impact of donations to youth and families through various channels.
  • Working with the Digital Marketing Manager and Communication Manager, maintain an active level of written and digital awareness and correspondence with all donors.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Partners with Foundation team to establish annual revenue goals and track progress towards those goals throughout the fiscal year.
  • Establish acquisition performance indicators; collaborate with the Donor Services Director to analyze and interpret donor data including giving frequency, consistency, responsiveness, and events attended; identifies giving trends and patterns and creates growth goals and objectives.

Requirements

Required Education and Licensure:

  • Bachelor's degree or combination of education and related experience in marketing, communications and philanthropy
  • 5+ years experience in marketing and/or communications
  • 3+ years experience working with a development team and/or engaging donors
  • 2+ years working with CRM software (Blackbaud preferred but not required)
  • 2+ years experience developing, tracking, communicating, and attaining strategic departmental goals, objectives and performance indicators.
  • Working knowledge of nonprofit donor marketing best practices
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office, Office 365, and ability to learn computer software programs
  • Valid driver's license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in marketing
  • 3+ years experience with a development and/or philanthropic entity
