Remote Packaging Development information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Packaging Development Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Packaging Development Specialist, you need a solid background in packaging engineering, materials science, or a related field, often supported by a relevant bachelor's degree. Familiarity with CAD software, packaging design platforms, and knowledge of industry standards and testing protocols are typically required. Strong project management, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills help you excel in remote collaboration and innovation. These skills ensure the creation of effective, sustainable packaging solutions that meet product requirements and regulatory standards while facilitating teamwork from a distance.

What is the difference between Remote Packaging Development vs Remote Packaging Technician?

AspectRemote Packaging DevelopmentRemote Packaging Technician
CredentialsDegree in Packaging Engineering or related field, certifications like CPP or PMP often preferredTechnical diploma or certification in packaging technology or related area
Work EnvironmentDesign, planning, and development in office or remote settings, collaboration with R&D teamsImplementation, troubleshooting, and quality checks, often in production or warehouse settings
Industry UsageUsed across manufacturing, consumer goods, and logistics companies for new product packagingCommon in manufacturing plants, warehouses, and distribution centers

Remote Packaging Development focuses on designing and planning packaging solutions, requiring engineering knowledge and collaboration with R&D teams. In contrast, Remote Packaging Technician handles the implementation, troubleshooting, and quality assurance of packaging processes, often in production environments. Both roles are essential in the packaging industry but differ in responsibilities, skills, and work settings.

What is remote packaging development?

Remote packaging development refers to the process of designing, testing, and improving packaging solutions for products while working from a location outside of a traditional office or laboratory. Professionals in this field use digital collaboration tools to communicate with teams, suppliers, and manufacturers. They are responsible for ensuring that packaging meets both functional and aesthetic requirements, complies with regulations, and supports the brand. This role often involves virtual prototyping, material selection, and coordination with global partners to streamline the packaging process.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in Remote Packaging Development roles, and how are they typically addressed?

Professionals working in Remote Packaging Development often encounter challenges related to cross-functional collaboration, as they need to communicate effectively with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams who may also be working remotely or across different time zones. Ensuring that packaging prototypes meet quality standards without in-person oversight can also be demanding. These challenges are typically addressed by leveraging robust digital collaboration tools, maintaining clear and frequent communication, and setting up regular virtual meetings to review progress and resolve issues quickly. Additionally, many organizations invest in virtual simulation and prototyping software to streamline the development process and maintain quality.

Job description

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and personable professional to drive targeted engagement with existing clients in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 telecom space. This role centers on educating our customers about additional IQGeo products, identifying gaps in current services, and cultivating rapport to warm up potential opportunities for our sales team. As a key point of pre-sales contact, this individual will focus on strategic outreach to create a smooth, well-informed handoff for the appropriate sales reps, helping clients feel well-supported as they transition to more in-depth sales conversations.

Company Summary

IQGeo helps telecom, fiber, and utility operators plan, design, build, and operate intelligent networks across the entire network lifecycle. Our AI-powered geospatial network management software unifies data, systems, and teams around an accurate, live digital twin of network assets-so work moves faster, field execution is more consistent, and decisions are made with confidence.

Built for complex enterprise environments, IQGeo combines flexible network modelling, configurable digital workflows, and best-in-class mobility-online or offline-while integrating with existing OSS/BSS, GIS, and enterprise platforms through open APIs. Whether supporting large-scale fiber and 5G rollouts or grid modernization and resiliency programs, IQGeo enables operators to reduce design and build costs, improve data quality, accelerate time to revenue, and operate more efficiently.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute targeted campaigns to increase product adoption among existing customers.
  • Identify and analyze service gaps, engaging relevant stakeholders within named accounts to lay the groundwork for future opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, enterprise sales, and sales enablement teams to ensure consistent and effective messaging and strategy.
  • Cultivate rapport and act as a trusted resource for prospects, building confidence and ensuring they feel supported as they transition to the sales team.
  • Track and report on progress, challenges, and opportunities to the Demand Generation & Sales Optimization Manager.
  • Regularly assess performance metrics, including meetings generated within the Tier 1 and Tier 2 telecom space, ensuring smooth transitions from pre-sales to sales.
  • Operate independently with a collaborative approach, maintaining autonomy while actively seeking assistance and feedback when needed.

What You'll Bring

  • Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Experience or familiarity with the telecom industry is a plus but not required.
  • The ideal candidate will ideally be based in the EST time zone.

Your Background

  • 5+ years of experience in account-based marketing (ABM), sales, or a related field.

Key Metrics for Success

  • Success will be measured by the number of new meetings generated with named accounts in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 telecom space, with a focus on providing a well-informed, seamless handoff to sales reps.

What's in it for You?

  • Competitive compensation package including a base salary in the range of $70,000-$75,000, plus performance-based commission.
  • Comprehensive health coverage - we cover 100% of monthly Medical, Dental & Vision premiums for you and your family.
