Remote Ott Platform Jobs in Florida (NOW HIRING)

Remote Ott Platform information

What are some common challenges faced when working remotely on an OTT platform team, and how can I effectively collaborate with distributed colleagues?

Working remotely on an OTT (Over-the-Top) platform team can present challenges such as coordinating across multiple time zones, maintaining clear communication, and ensuring alignment on project goals. Effective collaboration often relies on leveraging digital tools like Slack, Jira, and video conferencing software to stay connected and manage tasks. It's important to proactively communicate progress and blockers, attend regular stand-ups, and document work thoroughly to keep everyone on the same page. Building trust and rapport with team members through regular check-ins can also help foster a productive remote work environment.

What is a remote OTT platform?

A Remote OTT (Over-The-Top) Platform is a service that delivers video, audio, and other media content directly to users via the internet, without the need for traditional cable or satellite TV providers, and can be managed or accessed from remote locations. These platforms include popular streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+, and are often operated by teams working remotely. Remote OTT platforms provide flexibility for both viewers and employees, enabling content delivery and management from anywhere with internet access.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote OTT platform specialist?

To succeed as a Remote OTT Platform Specialist, you generally need expertise in streaming media technologies, understanding of content delivery networks (CDNs), and experience with video encoding and distribution, often supported by a degree in computer science or related fields. Familiarity with tools like AWS Media Services, DRM systems, and analytics platforms such as Google Analytics is typically required. Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently are crucial soft skills in this remote role. These competencies ensure reliable platform performance, seamless user experiences, and efficient collaboration across distributed teams.

Job description

About Streamlly

Streamlly is a cinematic journalism and human storytelling network. We produce short-form news recreations and human-interest films - our "StoryBreaks" - and distribute them where people already watch: connected TV and OTT, programmatic display, digital out-of-home (DOOH) screens, and social platforms. We hold a high editorial bar and an equally high production bar, and we hire W-2 with full benefits in an industry that defaults to freelance.

The Role

You take a finished master - key art, poster, or a locked video edit - and turn it into every version each platform requires, on spec and on deadline. This is the role that makes one piece of work show up correctly everywhere: the right aspect ratio, the right runtime, the right file format, the right captions. Because we cover breaking news, turnaround can be fast, so reliability and precision under a tight clock matter as much as craft.

What You'll Do
  • Adapt master posters, key art, and stills into platform-specific sizes: social (9:16, 1:1, 4:5, 16:9), programmatic display (IAB standard units), DOOH layouts (portrait and landscape, high resolution), thumbnails, and end cards.
  • Version master video edits for each destination: trims and runtime cuts, reframes and safe-area adjustments for vertical and square, platform encoding specs, and bitrate/format requirements for CTV/OTT vs. social vs. DOOH.
  • Build and burn in or attach captions and subtitles, and help us meet accessibility requirements (WCAG 2.1 AA, CVAA) across CTV/OTT distribution.
  • Keep brand and editorial consistency across every output - typography, lockups, disclosure language, and our cinematic look - without drifting from the approved master.
  • Manage assets cleanly: clear file naming, organized exports, version control, and tidy handoffs to distribution and ad ops.
  • Work from locked masters and our spec sheets, flagging anything that won't translate to a given platform before it becomes a problem.
  • Where possible, build reusable templates and batch/export workflows so versioning gets faster over time.
What You Bring
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud - Photoshop and Illustrator for static, Premiere Pro and After Effects for video, and Media Encoder for output.
  • A real grasp of platform specifications across social, programmatic, CTV/OTT, and DOOH, and the discipline to hit them exactly.
  • Hands-on experience with fast-turnaround design and video tools such as Canva, Opus Clip, CapCut, Adobe Express, or similar - and the judgment to know when a quick-tool output is good enough vs. when a piece needs to be finished in the full suite.
  • Comfort with captioning/subtitle files (e.g., SRT/VTT) and an understanding of accessibility basics.
  • A sharp eye for detail and brand consistency, and the judgment to keep adaptations faithful to the master.
  • The ability to move quickly and stay organized when a breaking-news piece needs to ship the same day.
Nice to Have
  • Motion graphics and design skills beyond pure versioning.
  • Hands-on experience with DOOH or programmatic display specs and ad-ops handoffs.
  • Familiarity with template-driven or automated resizing/export workflows.
  • Exposure to a DSP / programmatic distribution environment.
Details
  • Employment: Full-time (25-40 hours a week), W-2.
  • Work arrangement: Primarily remote / work-from-home with flexible scheduling, plus some in-office production days. You must reside in Florida and be able to travel to Sarasota or Tampa as needed.
  • Benefits: Health, dental, vision, and life insurance; 401(k); and flexible paid time off.

Streamlly is an equal opportunity employer and an E-Verify employer.
Employment Type: FULL_TIME
