Job description

West Monroe is seeking a SolutionsArchitectto join our Energy & Utilities (E&U) practice, specializing inCustomer Solutions. This role will focus on theMeter to Cash lifecycleand related technologies, helping utility clients design and implement solutions that improve customer experiences, enhance operational efficiency, and drive business outcomes. 

As a Solutions Architect, you will play a critical role in solution design, technology integration, and client engagement. You will leverage your expertise in CIS, MDM, CRM, CCaaS, and customer-facing digital platforms to deliver impactful systems that transform utility operations. 

This role can be based in a primary Energy & Utilities office as listed or remote in the United States.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Architect end-to-end solutions across the Meter to Cash lifecycle, including meter reading, billing, payments, collections, and customer service. 
  • Utilize your knowledge of major platforms such asCIS, MDM, CRM,CCaaS, and customer-facing digital solutions. 
  • Support the integration and implementation of CIS and MDM systems, ensuring alignment with client business goals. 
  • Develop solutions that enhance utility customer interactions through mobile apps, web portals, self-service platforms, and other digital tools. 
  • Work closely with IT, operations, and customer service teams to ensure cross-functional alignment and delivery success. 
  • Contribute to team development by sharing expertise and providing training on emerging technologies, includingKraken, a next-generation CIS platform. 
  • Build strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert in the E&U space. 
  • Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities, contributing to proposals, and expanding client relationships.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising judgment in evaluating outputs.
  • Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.

Qualifications 

  • 7+ years of experience in the Energy & Utilities industry, with a focus on Meter to Cash processes. 
  • Proven expertise in implementing or integrating CIS and MDM platforms (e.g., SAP IS-U, Oracle CC&B, Oracle Utilities MDM, Itron, Landis+Gyr). 
  • Familiarity with CRM, CCaaS, and customer-facing digital solutions. 
  • Deep understanding of the Meter to Cash lifecycle and supporting technologies. 
  • Ability to design solutions that improve customer experience and operational efficiency. 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with comfort working across IT, operations, and customer service teams. 
  • Proficiency in leading technology implementations and integrations. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 
  • Relevant certifications in CIS, MDM, CRM, or CCaaS platforms are a plus. 
  • Ability to travel 50%-75% annually.
  • Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs.
