Description
The Instructional Technology Manager promotes and supports development of engaging, high quality, innovative instruction in all distance learning curriculum and workforce continuing education courses at Robeson Community College. This position collaborates with academic leaders and faculty to provide technological support within the LMS and facilitate learner-centered improvements to course design and assessments. The Instructional Technology Manager also coordinates and facilitates professional development opportunities as the lead for the College's Center for Teaching and Learning.
Detailed Work Activities
  • Support faculty in both curriculum and workforce continuing education through effective course design, integration of advancing technology, and implementation of best practices of engagement in online learning
  • Lead research on evolving technologies to integrate with the LMS to enhance the student experience
  • Provide expertise and guidance regarding uses and limitations of artificial intelligence as an instructional planning and assessment tool
  • Serve as the lead of the Center for Teaching and Learning, providing training and professional development in effective instructional design practices, technology integration, and online course delivery.
  • Create and maintain training videos, reference materials, and workshops for students and faculty to assist with course navigation, universal operations such as creating and submitting assignments, and use of college-approved educational resources
  • Conduct quality reviews of courses and provide feedback to deans and program directors
  • Manage and ensure compliance with the state authorization process
  • Assist the LMS Administrator as needed in collaboration with vendors, third-party publishers, the LMS production team, and the North Carolina Community College System online learning team
  • Contribute to overall decision-making, planning, and policy making for distance learning programming at the College
  • Represent the College professionally and maintain confidentiality of all student and faculty data and interactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree awarded by a regionally accredited institution in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field with three years of experience in online instruction or instructional design in a higher education setting.
Proficiency in using Canvas, multimedia tools, and other educational technology
Preferred qualifications:
A Master's Degree awarded by a regionally accredited institution in Instructional Design, Educational Technology or a related field with three years of experience in online instruction or instructional design in a higher education setting.
