Cygnus Behavioral Health Services is actively seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our remote telehealth team. In this full-time position, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who are navigating their relationship with alcohol. The role is entirely remote, providing you with the flexibility to define your own schedule with no minimum number of hours required. Our telehealth setting allows you to connect with clients from the comfort of your own workspace while offering a supportive infrastructure that reduces administrative burdens. We manage billing and insurance processes, enabling you to focus solely on providing high-quality care. Throughout your work, you will receive support from our Clinical Operations and Care Coordination Teams, ensuring you have the resources needed to excel in your role.

• Conduct virtual therapy sessions with clients seeking support for alcohol-related challenges.
• Develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, incorporating evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
• Facilitate client engagement through regular follow-ups and the encouragement of community support options, such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Moderation Management.
• Participate in creating “Expert Insights” content in collaboration with our Content Manager, if desired.
• Optionally lead support group sessions and engage with peers through monthly group discussions to share insights and strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date certifications and professional knowledge by obtaining Continuing Education Units (CEUs), which are supported financially by the company.
• Handle client referrals and assist new clients in acclimating to the therapeutic process.

Your primary focus will be individuals seeking to change their relationship with alcohol, encompassing a wide range of experiences and backgrounds. Many clients may be interested in harm reduction, seeking moderation rather than complete abstinence. Your ability to empathize, establish trust, and encourage community support systems will be crucial in helping clients navigate their individual paths to recovery.

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Washington.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in therapeutic techniques including CBT, DBT, and Trauma-Informed Care.
• Strong clinical engagement skills with a focus on empathy and rapport-building.
• Ability to adapt to client preferences regarding their approach to recovery, including understanding harm-reduction models.

• Experience in telehealth or remote counseling settings is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with community support options for alcohol-related recovery.
• Track record of clinical work that emphasizes individual patient focus and adaptive treatment methodologies.
