The Bioprocessing Business Leader provides strategic and technical leadership for the Bioprocessing business, overseeing R&D, Field Application Specialists (FAS), Product and Project Management. This position is responsible for implementing and executing the global strategy for the Bioprocessing business unit, aiming to provide innovative and differentiated offerings by leveraging scientific expertise, strategic collaborations, and ongoing market analysis, as well as managing the financial execution for the business unit against current and out-year financial goals.

The Bioprocessing Business Leader oversees product development and overall business execution, working closely with cross functional teams including Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Commercial Leadership to ensure successful introduction of new products and effective product lifecycle Management aligned with business-specific profitability and growth objectives.

This position also oversees partnerships with external organizations, alliances, and key opinion leaders to enhance market visibility and stay informed about new technologies and industry developments. Furthermore, this role facilitates sales enablement by delivering product training, ensuring comprehensive product knowledge, and supporting effective customer product positioning.

This position reports to the Senior Vice President. The primary team is located in Cambridge, UK and the role is ideally onsite, but there is flexibility. Remote work may be considered for exceptional candidates who exceed the minimum requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the business unit executes against its current and out-year financial goals.

  • Manage overall business unit expenses based on revenue performance and visibility.

  • Prioritize business investments based on return profile, probability of success, and risk to the business

  • Define and champion the longterm strategic direction of the Bioprocessing portfolio, including annual portfolio strategy and gotomarket plans.

  • Lead and develop the technical organization (R&D, Field Application Specialists, and Project Managers).

  • Establish and maintain the global product and portfolio roadmap, informed by voiceofcustomer, market research, and competitive intelligence.

  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to expand the portfolio into new applications, technologies, and market segments.

  • Define pricing strategy in partnership with Commercial Leadership to support revenue growth and margin objectives.

  • Lead crossfunctional collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Business Development to ensure successful product launches and market adoption.

  • Support strategic customer engagements, partnerships, and key accounts alongside Sales and Business Development.

  • Monitor portfolio performance and market adoption, driving actions to improve growth, competitiveness, and customer impact.

  • Own the endtoend product lifecycle across the Bioprocessing portfolio, from concept and requirements definition through launch and lifecycle optimization.

  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external collaborators, key opinion leaders, and industry organizations to support innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Partner with Marketing and Sales Enablement to deliver effective product messaging, training, and customerfacing support.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in STEM discipline

  • 8-10+ years of experience in bioprocessing and biomanufacturing, with expertise in mammalian expression systems (e.g. CHO, HEK) and cell & gene therapy.

  • 5+ years experience across product management, R&D, sales, marketing, or lifescience functions.

  • 3+ years of people management experience leading multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or PhD

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and/or experience

  • Proven track record of bringing scientific products to market and managing complex product lifecycles.

  • Experience with market analysis, customer segmentation, and competitive intelligence.

  • Strong strategic and analytical capabilities, with the ability to translate market and customer insights into actionable product and portfolio strategies.

  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, including experience driving revenue growth and profitability.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to engage at executive level.

  • Ability to work effectively with global and remote teams and adapt to a fastpaced, evolving environment.

Physical Requirements & Expectations:

  • Willingness to travel (estimated 20-25%, depending on business needs).

Compensation Range:

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $ 124,000-$183,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
