Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Manager (PMHNP-BC)Remote (U.S.) | Full-Time W-2Role OverviewAvail Health is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to serve as both a practicing psychiatric clinician and the clinical leader of Avail's Comprehensive Behavioral Health Care Program.
This role combines direct patient care, clinical leadership, and program development. The Behavioral Health Clinical Manager provides psychiatric care to adults and seniors with complex behavioral health, cognitive, and dementia-related needs while leading a multidisciplinary team of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, Therapists, and Behavioral Health Care Managers.
As a member of Avail's clinical leadership team, this individual will help shape clinical workflows, establish care standards, support quality initiatives, develop team capabilities, and contribute to the growth and evolution of Avail's behavioral health and dementia care programs.
The ideal candidate is a clinically active PMHNP who enjoys both patient care and leadership and is energized by developing people, improving care delivery, and building scalable clinical programs that improve outcomes for Medicare-age adults.What You'll Own• Psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management for Medicare-age adults and seniors
• Assessment and treatment of serious mental illness, geriatric psychiatric conditions, and dementia-related behavioral symptoms
• Clinical oversight and development of Avail's Comprehensive Behavioral Health Care Program
• Direct management of behavioral health clinical staff
• Clinical quality, documentation standards, and care delivery best practices
• Cross-functional collaboration with operations, product, and technology teams
• Clinical input into workflow design, program development, and technology-enabled care deliveryWhat You'll DoClinical Care
• Evaluate and treat adults and seniors with complex behavioral health and dementia-related conditions
• Provide medication management, diagnostic clarification, risk assessment, safety planning, and longitudinal psychiatric care
• Serve as the GUIDE Practitioner for eligible dementia care patients
• Collaborate with caregivers, primary care providers, therapists, senior living staff, and interdisciplinary care teams
Leadership & Team Management
• Lead, mentor, and develop Psychiatric NPs, Therapists, and Behavioral Health Care Managers
• Conduct supervision, case review, coaching, and performance management
• Support onboarding and professional development of behavioral health staff
• Serve as the escalation point for complex clinical cases
Program Development
• Establish and maintain clinical standards, workflows, and quality expectations
• Identify opportunities for program improvement and operational excellence
• Partner with leadership to develop and scale behavioral health and dementia care programs

• Experience treating adults and/or seniors with complex behavioral health conditions
• Experience providing care through telehealth
• Prior people leadership, supervision, or clinical management experience
• Experience improving workflows, programs, quality initiatives, or care delivery models
• Strong comfort with technology-enabled clinical care
Preferred Qualifications
• Active Maryland PMHNP license
• Experience leading behavioral health programs or multidisciplinary clinical teams
• Experience managing therapists, nurses, care managers, or other licensed clinicians
• Experience working with older adults, dementia care, senior living, home-based care, or interdisciplinary geriatric care models
