Job Description:
Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for an Operations Manager, Senior Operations Manager, Lead Operations Manager, or Senior Lead Operations Manager at the Montgomery County Material Recycling Facility in Derwood, Maryland. This position will be responsible for providing operation oversight for the Material Recycling Facility and related projects. This includes on-site management of staff who supervise employees, procurement, budget development and oversight, operations and maintenance of facilities and equipment, production management, heavy equipment, and safety and environmental compliance. This position will serve as the liaison between site and MES Headquarters
Estimated Pay Range:
$70,193.76 - $128,481.30

  • Operations Manager: 5 years of applicable experience and 2 years of supervisory experience in field operations, recycling, solid waste, or construction activities (directly or indirectly). OR 8 years of progressively responsive experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment or working in field operations applicable to the hiring facility. This experience must include a lead role in field operations, recycling/solid waste or construction activities. Accredited vocational school with a major in a related field for up to 2 years' experience or 3 years' experience with an applicable college degree.

  • Senior Operations Manager: 7 years of applicable experience and 4 years of supervisory experience in field operations, recycling, solid waste, or construction activities (directly or indirectly). OR 10 years of progressively responsive experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment or working in field operations applicable to the hiring facility. This experience must include a lead role in field operations, recycling/solid waste or construction activities. Accredited vocational school with a major in a related field for up to 2 years' experience or 3 years' experience with an applicable college degree.

  • Lead Operations Manager: 7 years applicable experience and 4 years supervisory experience in field operations, recycling, solid waste or construction activities (directly or indirectly). OR 12 years of progressively responsive experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment applicable or working in field operations to the hiring facility. This experience must include a lead role in field operations, recycling/solid waste or construction activities. Accredited vocational school with a major in a related field for up to 2 years' experience or 3 years' experience with an applicable college degree.

  • Senior Lead Operations Manager: 11 years applicable experience and 8 years supervisory experience (directly or indirectly). Accredited vocational school with a major in a related field may be substituted for up to 2 years' experience, or 3 years' experience with an applicable college degree.

A valid driver's license with less than 5 points is required for all position levels.
