Job description

Overview
Corporate Tools is hiring an experienced UI/UX Designer for $100,000/year. You will be a traditional company employee. This is a remote position, but if you're near one of our local offices, you're welcome to come hangout with us in-office as well. Our main offices are in Post Falls, ID, and Spokane, WA; we also have satellite offices in Austin, TX, and Salt Lake City, UT. You'll be working 40 hours a week and, of course, enjoy great company benefits.
Are you the kind of person who notices bad kerning in the wild? Do you twitch a little when buttons aren't aligned or modals pop up in the wrong place? Do you love the smell of fresh Figma files in the morning?
If you nodded (or laughed), keep reading.
This role is one at the intersection of design and code, so a fully encompassing position. You'll be the glue between pretty mock-ups and working code, and yes, we do appreciate a beautiful button, but we also want to see you code. This person needs to be Figma, HTML, CSS and Javascript savvy. Sprinkle just the right amount of JavaScript to make interfaces sing (without setting off the browser's CPU fan). You excel at turning mocks into a polished functional website. Our projects range in size from completely re-vamping an entire application, to refreshing small pieces of a bigger product.
Wage
$100,000 / year
Benefits
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental and vision for employees
  • Annual review with raise option
  • 22 days Paid Time Off accrued annually, and 4 holidays
    • After 3 years, PTO increases to 29 days. Employees transition to flexible time off after 5 years with the company-not accrued, not capped, take time off when you want
    • The 4 holidays are: New Year's Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Up to 6% company matching 401(k) with no vesting period
  • Quarterly allowance
    • Use to make your remote work set up more comfortable, for continuing education classes, a plant for your desk, coffee for your coworker, a massage for yourself... really, whatever
  • Open concept office with friendly coworkers
  • Creative environment where you can make a difference
  • No dumb benefits like free dog walking on the weekends that snobby hipster places have to make you feel cool, but mathematically won't cost the company much money because you won't use it
  • Trail Mix Bar - oh yeah

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our full-stack teams to develop common UI components and design patterns that can be adopted and extended across product suites
  • Work daily with design language and UI consistency
  • Create wire frames, storyboards, user flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
  • Be the connection between our full-stack and design team
  • Develop innovative user interfaces and interactive models that leverage next generation web technologies to improve user productivity and operational efficiency
  • Researching and deeply understanding problems so you can get to the root of what's really important

Requirements
  • 3+ years experience in a UI/UX position
  • Strong understanding of Figma and Javascript
  • Knowledge of design and development best practice
  • Working knowledge of industry tools, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketch, Zeplin, Adobe xD, Invision etc
  • Excellent ability to manage timelines and be self-directed
  • Experience with using UX research methods to make informed UI/UX decisions
  • Familiarity with A/B testing and gathering and analyzing user interactions
