We're seeking a highly motivated Tax Manager to join our growing Tax Solutions team. In this role, you'll lead tax engagements, mentor team members, and deliver exceptional tax compliance and advisory support to clients while helping drive operational excellence across engagements.
What you'll do at SN:
Lead Tax Engagements
  • Manage multiple tax engagements from planning through completion.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned clients.
  • Coordinate engagement timelines, budgets, staffing, billing, and accounts receivable.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and at the highest quality standards.

Deliver Technical Tax Expertise
  • Review and prepare complex federal and state tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, and individuals.
  • Conduct tax research and document conclusions in accordance with professional standards.
  • Support implementation of tax planning strategies developed by senior leadership.
  • Assist clients with IRS and state tax notices and compliance matters.
  • Stay current on tax law developments and industry best practices.

Develop and Lead Team Members
  • Supervise and review work prepared by Tax Senior Associates, Staff Accountants, and offshore team members.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to support professional growth.
  • Delegate work effectively and ensure efficient utilization of team resources.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team culture.

Support Client Success
  • Build strong relationships with clients and serve as a trusted advisor.
  • Communicate complex tax concepts in a practical and understandable manner.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce additional firm services that may benefit clients.
  • Escalate complex technical matters appropriately to Senior Managers and Directors.

What you may have done before:
  • Worked successfully in a fully remote environment.
  • Worked within the Tax Department of a leading professional service firm.
  • Worked within the AEC industry.

What it takes to be a Tax Manager:
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Active CPA or EA license
  • 4+ years of public accounting tax experience.
  • Experience reviewing tax returns and managing engagement workflows.
  • Strong technical knowledge of partnership, corporate, and individual taxation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's in Taxation (MST), LL.M. in Taxation, or related advanced degree.
  • Experience serving clients in AEC, professional services, manufacturing, or closely held businesses.
  • Experience with state tax compliance, composite filings, and pass-through entity taxation.
  • Experience with tax software platforms such as CCH Axcess, GoSystem, ProSystem fx, Checkpoint, or BNA.
  • Experience working with offshore accounting teams.

Salary: The salary range for this position is an estimate of $130,000 - $150,000. A final compensation offer within this range will be based on factors including an individual's skill sets, experience, knowledge, licensure and certifications, and geography.
