• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, integrating insights on patients' medical conditions to better tailor treatment.
• Craft and execute dynamic treatment plans that address psychiatric and medical needs, adjusting strategies as necessary based on patient progress.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices to empower patients in their therapeutic journeys.
• Work in conjunction with medical providers to coordinate care, ensuring that all aspects of patient health are monitored and addressed.
• Provide timely crisis intervention to individuals experiencing acute mental health challenges, ensuring safety and establishing immediate support structures.
• Educate patients on the interplay between their mental health and physical conditions, enhancing their capacity to manage their overall health actively.
• Maintain strict adherence to ethical standards and legal guidelines in all documentation and patient interactions.
• Engage in ongoing education by participating in team meetings, case reviews, and professional development activities to remain informed on best practices.

This role primarily focuses on adults who may be grappling with co-occurring medical and mental health issues. Our counseling philosophy emphasizes empathy, understanding, and the cultivation of a safe space for individuals to explore their thoughts and feelings. You will work closely with clients from diverse backgrounds, each with unique challenges and strengths, supporting them on their journey to recovery.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Psychoanalyst, Psychologist, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in New York state.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential for patient engagement and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and uphold patient confidentiality per ethical guidelines.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and standard computer applications is preferred but not required.

Experience in providing mental health support for clients with chronic medical conditions or those facing substance use challenges is highly valued. Familiarity with evidence-based treatment approaches and an understanding of the complexities surrounding integrated care will enhance your candidacy for this role.
