Products Liability Litigation Counsel Attorney

Locations: REMOTE however candidates must be located within driving distance of Seattle, WA | Palo Alto, CA | Los Angeles, CA | San Diego, CA | San Francisco, CA
Salary: $170,000–$200,000

Direct Counsel is seeking a Products Liability Litigation Counsel to join a leading global law firm's Product Liability practice. This opportunity is designed for a senior attorney with at least 15 years of experience who is seeking a non-partnership-track position and has substantial experience in products liability and/or complex commercial litigation.

The successful candidate will manage sophisticated litigation matters with a high degree of autonomy and will work with clients across cutting-edge industries, including AI and robotics, automotive and autonomous vehicles, consumer products, food and wine, connected products, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, retail, cosmetics, and technology.

Responsibilities
  • Manage complex products liability and commercial litigation matters with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Defend product manufacturers, suppliers, and resellers in high-stakes litigation.
  • Draft briefs, correspondence, discovery responses, and other litigation documents.
  • Manage written discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Oversee document collection, review, and production.
  • Analyze causation and failure-related issues.
  • Handle matters involving multidistrict litigation and/or coordinated state proceedings.
  • Develop and execute case strategy throughout all phases of litigation.
  • Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other members of the litigation team.
  • Provide strategic and practical legal advice to clients.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide exceptional client service.
  • Manage multiple complex matters while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality work product.
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • At least 15 years of legal experience.
  • Products liability or commercial litigation experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex litigation matters.
  • Strong case management skills and ability to take ownership of matters.
  • Experience drafting briefs, correspondence, and responses to written discovery.
  • Experience managing document collection, review, and production.
  • Experience with causation and/or failure analysis.
  • Experience with multidistrict litigation and/or coordinated state proceedings.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional client service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic and team-oriented approach.
  • Active bar membership in the state where the candidate resides and in Washington or California required.
