The Department of Economic Security, Division of Benefits and Medical Eligibility specifically the Disability Determinations Services Administration (DDSA) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Applications Developer. This position will perform duties under general supervision covering ODBC connections to DES, MS Access database, HTML, Java, ASP, NET, SQL programming and SharePoint administration. Administration includes: research, design, planning, implementation, installation, evaluation, modification, problem resolution, network and system monitoring, optimization, and maintenance with respect to hardware, software, and connectivity with other electronically connected computerized management information systems. Provide training to customers in systems operation, procedures, hardware, and software applications. Generate and maintain documentation on network configurations, software and policies. Responsible for timely and accurate completion of projects within area of assignment.
Must live in Arizona. Must be in office a minimum of 3 days per week or as needed.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.
Job Duties:
Essential Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Assist with ODBC connections to DES, MS Access database, HTML, Java, ASP, NET, SQL programming and SharePoint administration. Administration including: monitor and analyze system utilization; reallocate system resources; schedule or perform system maintenance or repair; perform system restore, restart or replace equipment or software as necessary; control systems security access; protect data, software and equipment; schedule, test, install or coordinate vendor installation of equipment, communications, and software modifications, upgrades and replacement.
• Assist in the design, testing and implementation of new/corrected/enhanced system software applications. Assist in the preparation of system and user documentation.
• Provide ongoing customer support and technical assistance to users, as needed.
• Generate and maintain documentation on network configurations, software and policies.
• Gathers, designs, tests and generates customer requested management information reports
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge in:
• Considerable understanding of the ODBC, MS Access, HTML, Java, ASP, NET, SQL programming, SharePoint administration knowledge and network hardware and software installation, operation, maintenance, data security, trouble-shooting, customer support and training policies, database and other file structures, systems and forms analysis, application development methodologies, DDSA automated and manual systems.
Skills in:
• Analyzing network and microcomputer, automated problems formulating, organizing and training staff, installing and operating microcomputer and minicomputer network hardware and software, and in communicating with network equipment and software customers, in analyzing, conceptualizing, creating, implementing and supporting solutions in microcomputer and network hardware and software, and automated and business systems needs or problems, and in communicating with customers, vendors and technical support staff.
Ability to:
• Analyze, conceptualize and create solutions for programming scenarios.
Selective Preference(s):
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
• Knowledge and experience in SharePoint administration
• Considerable understanding of SQL programming and ODBC
