As a fully remote position, the Mental Health Counselor role at Genworth Counseling Center offers flexibility while maintaining a collaborative spirit through regular team meetings and case consultations. • Conduct culturally sensitive and strength-based assessments for new patients to establish a comprehensive understanding of their mental health needs.
• Provide tailored individual and family therapy sessions based on the unique needs and preferences of each client.
• Complete essential administrative tasks including billing, documentation, and individualized treatment plans, ensuring compliance with insurance authorization requirements.
• Develop crisis, safety, and relapse prevention plans to support clients in maintaining stability while navigating their mental health journeys.
• Create thorough discharge plans to facilitate smooth transitions for clients as they progress in their treatment.
• Adhere strictly to current federal and state regulations, as well as organizational policies, to ensure quality and compliance in care delivery.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through training and continuing education to enhance your skills and expertise.
• Regularly participate in case consultations and agency meetings to contribute to team cohesion and best practices in care.
• Fulfill all licensure and mandatory training requirements to maintain your status as a licensed mental health therapist.

You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse client base that includes individuals and families dealing with a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. • A Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field that satisfies licensing requirements.

• Previous experience working with outpatient clients is preferred, particularly in settings that emphasize individualized care and treatment planning.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems to facilitate documentation and billing processes is advantageous.
• Experience in crisis intervention and developing safety plans will be beneficial in helping clients manage their mental health effectively.
