Job Summary
The Associate, Senior Physical Security Designer will provide support to the Physical Security Consultants to design and implement physical security systems for our clients and their facilities and assets. This role involves collaborating with internal Physical Security Consultants and BIM Designers, as well as external design teams such as Architects and MEP consultants. The position requires up to 20% travel to client sites and project locations.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Physical Security Consultant to:
    • Design and implement physical security systems, including access control, surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.
    • Provide drawings package, specifications, product documentation, bill of materials and cost estimates.
    • Coordinate security package with various consultants Architect (locks), Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Telecom and others.
    • Complete Construction Administration tasks such as site walkthroughs, punch lists, redlines, RFI responses and Submittal reviews.
  • Develop project specific:
    • Wiring schematics and system block diagrams.
    • Power and environmental calculations.
    • Rack and enclosure details.
    • Equipment installation details.
    • Division 28 specifications.
  • Assist BIM Designers with the following tasks:
    • Update Index, Legend and Notes.
    • Device placement.
    • Installation details and detail callouts.
    • Create and update equipment schedules.
  • Use computer-aided design software platforms (Revit and AutoCAD) for tasks such as minor device relocations, create and update equipment schedules, device installation details, wiring details, block diagrams, rack and enclosure layouts.
  • Manage and update internal details library.
  • Stay updated on the latest security technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, strongly desired; Advanced Technical experience in the Security Industry may be considered.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in physical security engineering or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
  • Understanding of computer networks and telecommunications systems.
  • Understanding of construction documentation.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PSP, CPP) are a plus.
