Athletic Strategist (Remote College Recruiting Coach & Mentor)

Crimson Education

Manhattan, NY โ€ข On-site, Remote

Contractor

Posted 4 days ago

Job description

Crimson Education is the world's leading college admissions consulting firm, with over 1,490 Ivy League offers and 2,410 to the US Top 15. We help ambitious students gain admission to the world's top universities through expert-led guidance and proven, data-driven strategies.
Crimson Athletics brings this same firepower to athletic recruiting. We help ambitious student-athletes earn life-changing opportunities at elite academic universities by combining personalized coaching, smart recruiting strategy, and the admissions expertise Crimson is known for. Only about 0.2% of high school athletes ever compete at a top-30 ranked university. Our job is to help them beat those odds.
Crimson Athletics is the only athletic recruiting service that brings together:
  • Former collegiate and professional athletes who coach and mentor athletes in their own sport
  • Expert guidance through every stage of the high-academic recruiting process
  • Crimson's world-class admissions expertise, aligning athletic opportunity with admission to elite academic universities

The Role
Athletic Strategists are the heart of Crimson Athletics. We're growing our US team and hiring sport-specific strategists: former athletes who love coaching and mentoring, and who want to guide young athletes through the same path they walked.
This is a contract role, fully remote, built around your schedule. You set your hours and the number of athletes you take on, so it fits alongside your career, your coaching, grad school, or your own training and competing. There's a real path to full-time as the team grows. We're especially hiring in Fencing, Swimming, Squash, Track & Field, and Men's Tennis right now, with select openings in other sports. If you have deep experience in a specific sport, tell us in your application.
What success looks like:
  • Build real mentoring relationships with your athletes and support them as competitors and as people.
  • Meet regularly by video: about an hour every 5 weeks for sophomores and younger, every 3 weeks for juniors and seniors, with steady communication in between through our app and email.
  • Keep athletes accountable with tools like training logs and competition reflections.
  • Break down film, give honest feedback, and help them build a recruiting video that stands out.
  • Point them toward the camps, showcases, and events that get them in front of the right college coaches.
  • Build a clear, personalized recruiting plan with each athlete, and be honest about expectations.
  • Keep them proactive at every stage and help them take ownership of their recruitment journey.
  • Keep parents in the loop when it matters.
  • Support Athletics Sales with athlete evaluations and occasional consultation calls.
  • Help build and improve Crimson Athletics as we grow.

What skills and experience you'll need:
  • Competed and/or coached in your sport at a top academic university.
  • A genuine passion for mentoring teenagers.
  • A nuanced understanding of the high-academic recruiting process.
  • High character and exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.

We care more about who you as much as what's on your rรฉsumรฉ.
Why work for Crimson?
  • A flexible, fully remote role you structure around your life.
  • Meaningful work. You help young athletes reach opportunities that can change their lives.
  • A ground-floor seat in a fast-growing new division of a global company, with a real path to full-time. Internal promotions and role changes made up a third of Crimson's hires last year.
  • Colleagues who are elite in their fields, and a culture built on: Care. Communicate. Create.

If you love to mentor athletes and want to do work that genuinely changes lives, we'd love to hear from you.
