Job description

Title: Senior Consultant – Natural Gas Planning & Markets

Location: 100% Remote (United States)

Salary Range: $140,000 – $165,000 Base + 10-20% Bonus

A nationally recognized energy consulting organization is seeking a Senior Consultant – Natural Gas Planning & Markets to join its growing advisory practice.

This role will partner directly with utility companies, power generators, and energy market participants to provide strategic guidance across natural gas procurement, transportation, contracting, forecasting, market analysis, and risk management initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting U.S. natural gas markets and possess strong expertise in market fundamentals, supply planning, pricing strategies, regulatory considerations, and commercial contracting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead natural gas planning and advisory engagements for utility and power generation clients
  • Develop natural gas market forecasts and supply strategies
  • Support transportation, storage, and supply contracting initiatives
  • Evaluate market risks, pricing structures, and hedging opportunities
  • Provide strategic guidance regarding regulatory and market developments
  • Manage client relationships and project execution activities
  • Support business development and practice growth initiatives

Desired Background:

  • 5-15+ years of natural gas industry experience
  • Deep understanding of U.S. natural gas markets
  • Experience with NYMEX, basis pricing, and NAESB contracts
  • Strong client-facing consulting and project management skills
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
