National Account Manager - Industrial Why This Role Matters

The National Account Manager is a senior sales professional responsible for driving growth across Permatex’s Industrial/MRO channel. You will manage strategic relationships with major national industrial distributors, identify new business opportunities, and develop account strategies that increase sales, profitability, and market share.

This role is ideal for an experienced Industrial Sales, MRO Sales, National Account Management, or B2B sales professional who enjoys building strategic customer partnerships and delivering measurable growth.

What You Will Do
  • Own and grow relationships with key national industrial and MRO distributors.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans, joint business plans, sales programs, and promotional strategies.
  • Identify and close growth opportunities within existing accounts, including new locations, categories, customers, and product lines.
  • Lead customer business reviews, sales forecasting, pipeline management, and joint planning.
  • Develop accurate account and product-line forecasts and proactively identify changes in customer demand.
  • Negotiate pricing, programs, and investments while protecting margins and supporting profitable growth.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product, and other teams to expand the Permatex and Fast Orange product portfolios.
  • Identify customer needs and support new product development and product launches.
  • Maintain accurate CRM data, account activity, sales pipeline, and forecasts using Covera/Pipeliner and other sales tools.
  • Support Industrial channel strategy and broader Engine Repair business initiatives.
  • Travel up to 50% to meet with customers and business partners.
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 7–10+ years of Industrial/MRO sales or National Account Management experience.
  • Proven success managing large, complex industrial or MRO distributor accounts.
  • Experience working with national accounts such as Motion Industries, McMaster-Carr, Applied Industrial Technologies, or similar distributors strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial markets such as manufacturing, oil and gas, and related MRO channels.
  • Experience establishing products on preferred vendor lists and approved product lists.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic account plans and sales programs.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and results-oriented mindset.
  • Strong business and analytical skills with experience using CRM systems and sales dashboards.
  • Experience with Covera/Pipeliner, Salesforce, Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and SharePoint/Teams preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in an evolving environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%.
