Job description

Salary: $17 Hourly

The Editorial Intern will immerse themselves in Okayplayer's editorial needs, directly assisting the team with day-to-day requirements, including content development and research. This role offers practical experience in content strategy, editorial processes, and social media engagement.

The Editorial Intern has the following responsibilities and duties:

  • Pull background research for interviews and features, including artist timelines, notable moments, and recent activity.
  • Compile reference links, past coverage, and relevant context to support editorial development.
  • Pull key quotes and moments from articles for social use.
  • Flag strong moments from interviews that can be clipped for video.
  • Help maintain the editorial calendar, including tracking deadlines, statuses, and published content.


The Editorial Intern should have the following skills, education and experience:

  • Strong interest in music, culture, and storytelling, with a clear understanding of the Okayplayer voice.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to keep track of multiple moving pieces.
  • Comfortable conducting research and pulling together relevant context quickly.
  • A strong sense of what resonates across social platforms.
  • Clear, concise writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote environment.
  • Someone who is proactive, reliable, and tapped into culture.
