Kratos is seeking a highly motivated candidate as a Network Engineer, in Boulder, CO, for a large space ground system program. The candidate will work closely with system developers, test, and on-site user support personnel to support system updates, and ensure project objectives are met. Primary responsibilities include Network design and execution/compliance, preparation for SRR/PDR/CDR level review, meeting and working group support, and contributions towards future Task Orders, ECPs and CCPs.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work closely with Program leadership to ensure all Network Engineering requirements are met
  • Lead/Conduct studies and capture technical analysis in support future design reviews
  • Support all required IPTs, TIMs, WGs and Ad hoc meetings
  • Participate in CDRLs generation and deliveries based on customer prescribed schedule
  • Provide technical advice to our customers on architectures and potential solutions
  • SecDevOps processes and related Agile practices (Atlassian suite)
  • Support System Product Owners as required
  • Participate in requirements decomposition and analysis
  • System/network design and architecture
  • System documentation generation and updates
  • Attend and support highly technical engineering team meetings
  • Develop and deliver effective customer presentations (design reviews, status reports, kickoff meetings, support test plans) demonstrating an ability to communicate comfortably at a system level

  • 10+ years Network engineering
  • BS in a STEM degree field
  • Support programs through SRR, PDR, CDR or equivalent design reviews
  • CCNA, CCNP, and equivalent Senior level Network certifications for CISCO and Juniper systems
  • Support firewall, switch, and router configurations and upgrades
  • Experience with Network security configurations and hardening
  • Design, deploy, and maintain LAN and WAN infrastructure
  • Configure and manage routing protocols, MPLS connectivity, and subnet design
  • Implement and support virtual networking solutions across on-prem and cloud environments
  • Experience with satellite ground systems
  • Familiarity with modern IT infrastructure capabilities to include virtualization, cloud deployment and containerization (CNFs)
  • Complete knowledge of Agile methodology
  • Candidate must be self-motivated and comfortable with supporting multiple groups of developers, engineers, and testers.
  • Candidate must be able to articulate technical concepts orally and in written forms both internally to the team, as well as, externally to the customer and users.
  • Working knowledge of space systems, including ground systems and system development processes

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Advanced certifications (CCNP, specialization tracks, or equivalent)
  • Experience with Juniper networking equipment and operating systems
  • Experience working alongside or in a network architect role
  • Exposure to enterprise network design and large-scale infrastructure planning
  • Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) technologies
  • Familiarity with cloud networking platforms and integrations
  • Knowledge of network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.)
  • Experience supporting high-availability and multi-site environments
  • Security+ certification is not required but is beneficial to the position

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Competitive salary based on experience and education
Salary Range: $115,000-$160,000
