Job description

The Staff Pharmacist - Retail Pharmacy is responsible for ensuring that medications are procured, prepared, dispensed, and administered in a safe, effective, and compliant manner. This role supports both clinical and operational aspects of pharmacy practice while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Essential Job Duties
  • Provide comprehensive pharmacy services including:
    • Retail dispensing
    • Home health aids
  • Accurately process prescriptions:
    • Receive and verify verbal prescriptions
    • Prepare, fill, and dispense medications
    • Perform patient counseling and verbal consultations
  • Perform and/or supervise pharmaceutical compounding activities.
  • Deliver clinical pharmacy services such as:
    • Collecting medical histories
    • Therapeutic drug monitoring
    • Pharmacokinetic dosing consultations
    • Providing drug information and education
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs in alignment with departmental and regulatory standards.
  • Manage inventory control including monitoring, ordering, receiving, stocking, and shipping of medications.
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy interns and technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare Accreditation requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Administer immunizations and provide patient counseling.
  • Support additional pharmacy operations and duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Professional degree in Pharmacy (Doctor of Pharmacy preferred).
  • Active Wisconsin Pharmacist License or temporary Wisconsin Pharmacist License with full licensure obtained within 60 days.
  • Must maintain an active Wisconsin Pharmacist License throughout employment.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience.

Work Schedule
  • Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM-6:00 PM or 9:00 AM-7:00 PM
  • Every 3rd Saturday: 8:00 AM-1:00 PM
