We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team at the Psychotherapy Medication Clinic, a leading provider of mental health services. This full-time remote position enables you to provide critical support and therapeutic interventions to individuals facing mood disorders, including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related conditions.

Work Environment

This role offers the convenience of a remote work setting, allowing you to reach clients effectively while enjoying a flexible work-life balance. Our operational hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a structured yet flexible schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the severity and duration of mood disorder symptoms, integrating client history and clinical observations.
  • Collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans that reflect their specific situations, aspirations, and needs, using a client-centered approach.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), tailored to the unique challenges presented by each client.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment methods, and practical self-care strategies that can enhance mental wellness.
  • Track and evaluate client progress throughout the treatment journey, adjusting plans as necessary for optimal outcomes.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists and other health professionals to ensure integrated care and a multidisciplinary approach to mental health treatment.
  • Stay informed of the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatment to continuously improve therapeutic methods and care approaches.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of client interactions, assessments, and treatment updates, adhering to relevant legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Participate actively in case discussions and team meetings, contributing to a culture of shared knowledge and professional development.
  • Serve as a champion for mental health, advocating for the destigmatization of mood disorders and helping clients access necessary resources.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be working with individuals confronting various mood disorders, including but not limited to depression and anxiety-related disorders. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds, bringing unique perspectives to their mental health journey. Your role will empower them to find strength and pathways to recovery, validating their experiences and guiding them toward healing.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, PsyD, or LMFT within the state of Texas.
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies, particularly in managing mood disorders using CBT and DBT.
  • Strong collaborative skills, with an understanding of psychopharmacology and ability to work effectively with psychiatrists.
  • Demonstrated history of providing successful therapeutic outcomes for clients with mood disorders.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to connect with clients from various backgrounds.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in an outpatient clinical setting, specifically treating mood disorders.
  • Participation in ongoing professional development and training related to mental health.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
