Position Overview

Freedom and Wellness Counseling, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team. This full-time remote role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse clientele, providing essential mental health services to mothers and marginalized communities. As a therapist, you will leverage your expertise in understanding socioeconomic determinants of health to foster an inclusive therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate mental health diagnoses in accordance with the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders V (DSM V) standards.
  • Develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each diagnosis, incorporating accepted practice guidelines to provide therapeutic counseling and education to clients.
  • Deliver cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to individuals, families, and groups, and adapt interventions for use in various settings.
  • Respond effectively to crisis situations by assessing the urgency of patient needs, providing immediate care, and facilitating access to appropriate resources.
  • Utilize therapeutic treatment models such as behavior modification, cognitive behavioral therapy, and brief therapy during counseling sessions.
  • Provide clinical supervision and oversight to Mental Health Workers and therapy assistants, ensuring effective support for both staff and clients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop cross-system treatment plans for individuals, enhancing the overall quality of care.
  • Conduct intake sessions, performing Integrated Biopsychosocial Assessments and determining initial client treatment needs and appropriate diagnoses.
  • Maintain efficient and accurate electronic medical records while managing a sizable caseload efficiently.
  • Engage in training and educational opportunities to share knowledge about clinical topics with colleagues and the community.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our therapists primarily work with mothers and families, focusing on the unique challenges they face. We also prioritize serving marginalized communities by delivering accessible mental health services that acknowledge and address the various socioeconomic factors affecting our clients' lives.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctorate degree in clinical psychology, counseling, or clinical social work (e.g., MA, MS, MSW, MFT, MHC, PhD, PsyD) from an accredited program.
  • An independent license to practice therapy in the state of Oregon (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC).
  • Ability to effectively manage a large caseload and interface with large healthcare providers and support teams.
  • Passion for impacting lives and improving the future of behavioral healthcare.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records and demonstrated effective communication skills through electronic mail.
  • Strong computer skills with an understanding of Windows applications.
  • Knowledge of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
Preferred Experience

  • Training in specialized therapeutic techniques.

Compensation and Benefits
