About the Role:

As a Senior Proofreader, you are responsible for checking and ensuring the quality of all materials for client review, for a submission, or for technical deployment. You are an expert in the English language, can ensure grammatical and spelling accuracy in all materials produced, and are proficient in AMA editorial style.

You will be asked to perform a clean read of a manuscript or layout as well as make sure the manuscript or layout matches approved materials or a previous submission. You will also be asked to do a side-by-side comparison to make sure that tech builds match the final creative. As Senior Proofreader, you will need to be experienced in reviewing both digital and print pieces. You will also review bigger and more complex jobs within deadlines. Occasionally, you will provide supervisory oversight of the work queue and delegate work in the absence of the manager.

You will be detail-oriented, flexible, able to manage changing priorities, and work independently. You are encouraged to be proactive in problem-solving and will be able to work with the cross functional teams to resolve any project issues. You are responsible for actively prioritizing your daily workload and communicate any known time constraints with the project managers.

You wil report to the Manager, Proofreading Operations. This is also a remote role that will require you to work Pacific Standard Time.

You Will:

  • Perform light copyediting and proofreading, checking for grammatical accuracy and spelling errors
  • Ensure all final copy and design match approved job
  • Assist manager in delegating work from the queue and communicating any direction specific to the jobs in a clear, professional manner
  • Take on special projects as assigned by the manager

You Will Bring:

  • 2+ years of proofreading experience in an agency environment (healthcare/pharma marketing preferred), proofreading both digital/interactive and print work
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical or healthcare terminology
  • Must be able to mark up corrections using Adobe Acrobat tools as well as Microsoft Word documents
  • Demonstrate expertise in English grammar, spelling, and syntax
  • BA in Journalism, Writing, Communications, or similar
  • Proficiency in AMA style
