Job description

Job Title: Project Manager โ€“ Transmission Capital Projects (Remote) Location: Houston, Texas Type: Contract Compensation: $110.00/hr. (W2) Work Model: Remote โ€“ offsite

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full project lifecycle from initiation through project close-out.
  • Serve as the primary internal owner of project scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate closely with EPC contractors and construction partners throughout project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, risks, milestones, and overall performance.
  • Collaborate with cost management teams on budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking.
  • Partner with project schedulers to maintain accurate project timelines and resource planning.
  • Prepare executive-level project reports and presentations for leadership stakeholders.
  • Facilitate communication between internal teams, leadership, and external partners.
  • Identify and resolve project issues while proactively managing risks and dependencies.
  • Ensure project execution aligns with regulatory, operational, and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8+ years of project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience working within an EPC project delivery model.
  • Experience managing utility, transmission, energy, or large-scale linear infrastructure projects.
  • Proven ability to manage projects throughout the full lifecycle, from initiation through close-out.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and reporting requirements.
  • PMP Certification (Preferred)
  • Engineering degree (Preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (Preferred)
  • Experience with SAP, SharePoint, forecasting, and cost management tools (such as TamCasting or similar platforms).
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.

Additional Skills and Backgrounds

  • Electric transmission projects and regulated utility environments (Highly valued).
  • Large-scale infrastructure projects such as electric transmission/distribution, pipelines, transportation, or renewable energy infrastructure.
  • Experience with investor-owned utilities such as Xcel Energy, Southern California Edison, PG&E, Duke Energy, or similar.
  • Strong relationship-building abilities.
  • Comfort working with limited structure and ambiguity.

Work & Travel Requirements This is a fully remote opportunity available nationwide within the United States. Candidates must be willing and able to travel approximately 25%, primarily throughout Texas and New Mexico, including site visits to substations, transmission facilities, and active construction locations. Travel expenses are reimbursed per company policy.
