Peer Support Behavioral Center is seeking dedicated and experienced Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) for full-time and part-time roles. • Collaborate with primary care providers to identify and manage mental health and psychosocial issues, playing a pivotal role within the interdisciplinary team.
• Conduct comprehensive patient intakes, focusing on diagnostic assessments to draft tailored treatment plans that align with each individual’s goals.
• Implement brief, targeted interventions for patients requiring immediate mental health support while maintaining adherence to Federally Qualified Health Center guidelines.
• Regularly review and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and feedback, engaging in proactive follow-ups to monitor outcomes.
• Develop and maintain relapse prevention strategies and assist patients in achieving stable mental health functioning.
• Identify at-risk patients and collaborate on strategies to mitigate deteriorating conditions, providing essential support to both patients and their families.
• Document all patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards, while effectively communicating with other care team members.
• Foster behavioral change in patients by promoting healthy lifestyle adaptations and offering self-management skills training.
• Participate in program evaluations and consult on behavioral health services to enhance the clinic’s overall impact on the community.
• Assist patients in navigating their medical treatments recommended by primary care providers, equipping them with coping strategies for any side effects.
• Adhere strictly to the Code of Ethical Conduct for Clinical Professionals and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the clinic’s operations and patient care initiatives.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at our center, you will address a diverse patient population, ranging from children to adults, with various mental health needs including anxiety disorders, depression, and behavioral issues. You'll utilize evidence-based practices to provide culturally sensitive care that recognizes and respects the individual backgrounds of patients within our community.

• Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling or a related field is essential.
• Current and valid LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) license in New Jersey.
• In-depth knowledge of mental health assessment methodologies and treatment planning reflective of current best practices.
• Familiarity with DSM-IV diagnoses and psychotherapeutic techniques, ensuring appropriate interventions can be tailored as per patient needs.
• Strong understanding of the impact of psychosocial factors on mental health and well-being.
• Ability to work independently while remaining an effective part of a collaborative health care team.
• Excellent communication skills are essential for both patient interaction and team collaboration.

• Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred to serve our bilingual clientele effectively.
• Experience working in outpatient settings and familiarity with telehealth practices are advantageous.
• A proven track record of successful patient outcomes through evidence-based therapeutic practices.
• Knowledge of community resources and networks that are available to support patient needs.
