Job Description: Mechanical Engineer
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing custom equipment, including specialized glovebox and hot cell systems, shielding designs, and remote handling equipment for the radiopharma/nuclear industry. Responsibilities will vary depending on the project phase, from design and modeling to hands-on calculations and customer interactions. The engineer will generate fabrication drawings from conceptual designs and support FEA/CFD while understanding GD&T. Familiarity with codes such as ANSI, ASME, and ASTM is required.
Responsibilities
- Design custom equipment for the radiopharma/nuclear industry.
- Create specialized glovebox and hot cell systems, shielding designs, and remote handling equipment.
- Generate fabrication drawings from conceptual designs.
- Support Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
- Understand and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Interact with customers during various project phases.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in mechanical engineering and design.
- Experience with mechanical design, sheet metal, and machine design.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and 3D modeling.
- Proficient in software such as Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Understanding of ASME and ASTM standards.
- 6+ years of experience with custom equipment design.
- 6+ years of experience with GD&T and sheet metal.
- 6+ years of experience with FEA/CFD.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wisconsin Dells, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
