The Team:

Our Global Procurement team plays a key role in ensuring the quality and timeliness of product provided to our customers and internal teams.  We work to provide best in class supply chain management practices by establishing and maintaining an exceptional supply base and internal processes that allow for quality parts to meet 100% on time delivery requirements of the internal and external customer.  Key objectives to achieve this goal include supply base strategies, supply chain planning and procurement execution, price negotiation strategies, asset management, supplier risk management, cost management practices, supplier relationship management, supplier quality objectives, compliance administration, continuous improvement and data measurement.


The Role:
The Buyer participates in all objectives listed above.  This role is responsible to make sure the correct items of superior quality are received in a timely fashion to ensure uninterrupted flow of product to our production team.  You will work in a dynamic environment purchasing product, expediting and de-expediting due to the changing needs of our customers, creating and maintaining excellent supplier relationships, and making strategic procurement decisions that directly impact the company and its operations.

You will spend your time:

  • Coordinating all purchasing activity for assigned products/commodities including review of material requirements, price negotiation, purchase order placement, expediting/de-expediting, order confirmations, past due purchase order follow-up, invoice discrepancy solutions, constraint resolution
  • Performing ERP system procurement, part parameter and supplier maintenance updates
  • Initiating cost reductions through effective negotiation strategies
  • Strategic product sourcing
  • Communicating effectively with internal stakeholders and external supply base
  • Developing inventory planning initiatives for key items
  • Fostering and maintaining successful supplier relationships
  • Participating in Global Procurement improvement initiatives
  • Maintaining ethical conduct and confidentiality requirements

We are excited about you if you have:

  • A minimum of 3 years purchasing experience
  • 2 to 4-year business related degree preferred
  • Experience with manufacturing environments and MRP systems preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in team settings
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

Travel:

  • This position may travel between the Lewiston and Winona facilities.
  • Infrequent travel for training and/or business needs may be required.
