Job description

Transmission Line Engineer (Remote)

The position falls within the transmission department of the organization. The engineer will be working with sr engineers to complete projects that support our utility customer. They will work with in-house and client engineers and designers.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the engineering and design activities related to transmission line design such as engineering analysis and design, route selection, material acquisition, structural and foundation design, and project and construction management with the guidance of higher level engineers
  • Become familiar with preparing project construction documents such as: plan and profile drawings; design drawings; engineering, material, and construction specifications; project schedules and bills of material
  • Help develop project design alternatives and corresponding cost estimates with assistance of higher level engineers
  • Learn to design new transmission facilities with voltages ranging from 69kV and 765kV
  • Utilize PLS-CADD to model transmission line design project Sr Engineers
  • Position will require occasional site visits

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering (ABET)
  • Masterโ€™s Degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering (ABET) will count toward years of experience
  • An EIT License is desirable but not required

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $36.06/hr.
