Job Description
SGS is looking for a Welding Inspector for a one month contract in Cleveland, OH with potential of further extension.
  • Responsible to perform dimensional inspections, visual inspections, and marking verifications on metal parts.
  • The inspector will perform the dimensional inspection himself. It would be the simple equipment like tape measures, calipers, gauges which will be provided by client
  • Client will provide test sheets and drawings that have dimensions. The inspector will verify the part to the drawing, perform measurements, and document their results. There may be some paperwork. Some visual inspection, dimensional inspection, paperwork and organizing.
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection results, including any issues found.
  • Recording inspection results and any non-conformities
  • Investigating Non-Conformities i.e. identifying causes and assisting in corrective actions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with welders, engineers, and other personnel.

Qualifications
  • At least one of the following: AWS CWI or API 510
  • Five to ten (5 - 10) years industrial welding-related inspection experience. Five (5) of these years should be in Quality Assurance / vendor surveillance / shop inspections
  • Industrial experience in Oil & gas / Power & Utility / Construction / Manufacturing, etc..
  • experienced in inspecting welds on various manufactured products eg. pipelines, expansion joints, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and other equipment experienced in witnessing NDE test (UT, PT, MT, RT, etc..) and verifying test reports.

Additional details:
Type of contract: sub-contractor agreement
Work schedule and hours of work: 5 days / week. Up to 10 hrs / day (Monday to Friday)
Pay Rate: $45 / hr. to $50 / hr.
Per diems: to be discussed
