Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Sales Consultant to join our growing Business Development team. This role will focus on driving revenue through full-service consulting engagements, with an emphasis on primary market research, analytics solutions and strategic advisory for pharmaceutical and life science clients.

The Sales Consultant will be responsible for prospecting, developing, and expanding client relationships, while working closely with internal consulting teams to deliver high-impact engagements across Michael Allen Company’s service lines. This includes acting as a liaison between clients, business development, and consulting teams to identify needs, shape solutions, and support successful delivery.

  • Directly drive revenue growth through new business development and expansion within existing accounts
  • Proactively prospect and engage pharmaceutical and life science clients to identify new opportunities across consulting, analytics, and primary market research services
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on commercial strategy and market insight needs
  • Develop tailored proposals, statements of work, and go-to-market approaches aligned with client objectives
  • Partner with internal consulting teams to scope, position, and deliver high-quality engagements
  • Provide superior customer service by coordinating with Project Managers and Managing Consultants to ensure successful execution and client satisfaction
  • Lead and participate in client meetings to understand evolving business needs and position appropriate solutions across MAC capabilities
  • Analyze and synthesize client and market insights to inform business development strategy and engagement opportunities
  • The ideal candidate is highly organized, intellectually curious, and experienced in both business development primary market research and/ or data analytics within the life sciences industry, with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of business development or client-facing experience within healthcare, life sciences, or consulting
  • Demonstrated success in selling consulting, analytics, or primary market research services
  • Experience working within a healthcare professional services firm, market research firm, or life sciences organization preferred
  • Strong understanding of primary market research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative) and analytics
  • Proven ability to prospect, develop, and close business with pharmaceutical and life science clients
  • Ability to develop insightful, compelling proposals and delivering strategic sales communications
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with consulting, analytics, and commercial teams
  • Strong familiarity with drug development, commercialization, and marketing processes in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
