Wieland is hiring a Quality Assurance Manager. The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for leading and advancing the enterprise Quality Management System (QMS) across all Global Services Business Unit facilities nationwide.


This role is accountable for overseeing the development and management of the strategic direction for the quality management system and standards. This role manages the execution, maintenance and compliance of quality standards, training, documentation, corporate management reviews, and internal audit schedules across multiple sites. This role will be the Management Representative as appointed by the BU President to lead the QMS and Systems Assessments, Standards, Training, Certification. This role is located out of Louisville, Kentucky, and will be fully remote. While this role is remote, travel to locations will be required (50% travel).

Responsibilities

Quality Assurance Manager Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100, AS9120 as needed.
  • Maintains the enterprise Quality Management System (QMS) across all ISO-certified facilities
  • Monitor regulatory changes and update policies
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, internal quality policies, and customer requirements.
  • Establish an escalation path for systemic or non-compliance related issues to Corporate Leadership Team.
  • Management Representative as appointed by the BU President to lead the QMS and Systems Assessments, Standards, Training, Certification.
  • Serve as a primary quality representative for managing the annual corporate management review process, which includes coordinating analysis; Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats (SWOT), Political, Economic, Social and Technological, Legal and Environment conditions (PESTLE), Interested Parties (IP), and Risk Register for corporate reporting and annual recertification audits.
  • Analyze quality performance data, trends, and risks; develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Develop, implement, and update quality assurance programs, procedures, and operating practices aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead Monthly Quality Site Meetings, monitor progress against action items
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Operational Excellence and Human Resources Teams to standardize quality practices and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor vendor/supplier related issues to support supply quality and adherence to quality standards.
  • Travel to plant locations nationwide to provide quality leadership, coaching, training, and audit support.
  • Lead, mentor, and support Business Unit Quality team members and QA leadership.
  • Monitor the site quality teams independence from the operations
  • Defines opportunities for standardization across sites
  • Collaborate with Commercial Leaders to develop standard approach to yearly customer surveys to deliver consistent feedback and actions within the business unit.

Quality Assurance Manager Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in QA/QC within manufacturing, preferably IS9001, AS9100 or AS9120
  • Lead Internal Auditing experience in IS9001, AS9100/AS9120
  • Experience in transforming metal products into industrial manufacturing environments
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills and organization skills.
  • Ability to influence others without having direct authority and change management skills.
  • Proficiency in Oracle, Consense, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office software programs.
  • Excellent organization and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Must be detail-oriented and recognize importance of accuracy and timeliness in completing tasks.
