Job description

Job Summary: 

The Assurance Experienced Manager, BDOADVANTAGE is responsible for supporting assurance professionals to sustain quality of work while innovating the audit experience through the assessment of business demands to support a technology driven assurance practice.
 

Job Duties:

  • Effectively prioritizes and manages the scope of projects and product releases (as applicable) to deliver key practice benefits
  • Ensures product and project backlog are well defined, organized, and prioritized on a continuous basis
  • Aligns and influences stakeholders and resources across the organization to drive planning and execution; manages a cross-functional process for prioritizing and planning the roadmap and major deliverable releases
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams such as IT or Learning and Communications, as needed
  • Identifies and manages dependencies among projects to ensure efficient resource utilization and higher end user adoption
  • Prepares and participates in release and sprint/project planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and other development events
  • Provides updates to stakeholders and product management throughout the lifecycle of products and projects
  • Coordinates with key stakeholders to ensure deliverables are in compliance with regulatory and firm-wide requirements
  • Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure deliverable performance and identify optimization opportunities
  • Leads product development efforts for audit and assurance engagements performed under various standards, which may include US GAAS, PCAOB, SOC, TPA, WebTrust, Employee Benefit Plans, and/or SSARS reviews/compilations
  • Coordinates and assists with developing, updating, and organizing various audit and assurance services tools 
  • Participates in testing of audit/assurance software projects, including: 
    • Pilot, expansion, and deployment of new audit/assurance engagement software 
    • Library maintenance for previous audit/assurance engagement software
  • Develops, coordinates, and presents training materials for audit/assurance engagement software updates
  • Assists with new audit/assurance engagement software user support
  • Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a Career Advisor to associates, seniors, and managers as assigned
  • Provides verbal and written performance reviews to associates, seniors, and managers
     

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems, required
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems, preferred

Experience:

  • Six (6) or more years of relevant work experience, required
  • Audit or assurance client service experience, preferred
  • Assurance methodology/software experience, preferred
  • Supervisory experience, preferred
  • Experience collaborating with distributed/remote teams, preferred

License/Certifications:

  • CPA, preferred
  • Certifications from organizations such as Scrum Alliance and Project Management Institute (PMI) a plus (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master, Certified Product Owner), preferred

Software:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, preferred
  • Experience with SharePoint, preferred
  • Experience with enterprise content management solution, preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills
  • Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, US GAAS and SEC/PCAOB standards
  • Knowledge of international accounting/auditing and other professional standards (e.g., ISAs, IFRS, HITRUST)

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $125,000 - $155,000
Maryland Range:  $125,000 - $155,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range:  $125,000 - $155,000
