Job description

Corporate Paralegal (Contract-to-Hire Preferred)
Location: Downtown Chicago, IL (Hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 remote)
A highly respected corporate legal department is seeking an experienced Corporate Paralegal to join its collaborative and long-tenured team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking for a long-term home within a stable organization that values culture fit, teamwork, and professional growth.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in insurance regulatory filings and/or securities filings (SEC filings for a public company). Corporate governance experience is helpful but can be taught to someone who is strong in one of the core areas.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support a team of attorneys on a variety of corporate legal and regulatory matters
  • Assist with insurance regulatory filings and related compliance requirements
  • Prepare and support SEC filings and public company reporting obligations
  • Draft and maintain corporate resolutions, consents, minutes, and governance documents
  • Maintain corporate records, minute books, and entity documentation
  • Assist with annual conflict of interest certifications and regulatory projects
  • Support audits, examinations, and special projects
  • Coordinate corporate governance and corporate secretarial functions
Qualifications
  • 5-7+ years of corporate paralegal experience
  • Strong experience with insurance regulatory work and/or SEC/public company securities filings
  • Corporate governance experience preferred but not required
  • Insurance industry or other regulated industry experience is a plus
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and corporate records management
Compensation
  • Contract Pay Rate: $43-$52/hour

Depending on the specific client, location, and role, the benefits may include PTO, medical, dental, vision, term life and AD&D insurance, short-term disability and long-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, wellness plans, and a 401k plan or a non-qualified deferred compensation plan.
