Job description

About Us
BTC Inc. is the parent company of Bitcoin Magazine, The Bitcoin Conference, and Bitcoin for Corporations. Our mission is Hyperbitcoinization, the global adoption of Bitcoin as the world's preferred monetary network. We believe Bitcoin opens the door to a global monetary network free from poor incentives, censorship, and government manipulation. Our journey to success involves decades of complex problem-solving, product development, and service creation in order to onboard billions of people into a future where money is more accessible, borderless, and inclusive. If you enjoy working on challenging problems, fast-paced sprints, and navigating ambiguity, you'll find our mission and type of work inspiring and rewarding.
The Role
You'll be joining Bitcoin Magazine on our Media Team, the oldest and most established source of news, information, and expert commentary on Bitcoin. Since 2012, Bitcoin Magazine has provided analysis, research, education, and thought leadership at the intersection of finance and technology. Bitcoin Magazine strives to present accurate, timely, and relevant material to Bitcoin and blockchain communities. We have a passion for sharing news about people, companies, and technological developments that are changing our world. Whether our readers are newcomers, technical developers, investors, or entrepreneurs, we aim to inform and enlighten them with quality stories that meet our stringent editorial and journalistic standards, featuring both the Bitcoin industry's highs and lows.
We are seeking a sharp, fast, and detail-oriented Social Media News Reporter (Social Media) who will help Bitcoin Magazine deliver timely, accurate Bitcoin-focused news across our social platforms during U.S. hours. In this role, you will monitor Bitcoin, crypto, macro, and regulatory developments in real time, identify what matters to our audience, and publish clear, optimized updates that maintain Bitcoin Magazine's voice and editorial standards. You will work independently during early hours while coordinating closely with the news team when stories are developing, sensitive, or high-impact.
The Work
  • Publish breaking news updates across Bitcoin Magazine's social channels, focusing on X and other social media channels as needed.
  • Monitor news and identify stories relevant to our audience, prioritizing accuracy and speed.
  • Format and optimize posts for each platform to maximize reach, engagement, and clarity.
  • Cover U.S. hours: 9am-5:00pm CT, Monday through Friday.
  • Support weekend and holiday coverage by posting minimum 1-2 X posts per day as needed, and be prepared to go "all in" during major breaking news.
  • Hit a consistent publishing cadence of roughly 5-10 X posts per weekday during your shift, adjusting up or down based on the news cycle.
  • Maintain Bitcoin Magazine's voice and credibility by following editorial standards and avoiding speculation or misrepresentation.
  • Coordinate with the news team on major or developing stories, and communicate handoffs clearly when your shift ends.
  • Help our Head of News during our daily livestreams as needed for our new flagship news show to coordinate with content being published on X.

Your Experience
  • Social media experience: 3-5+ years of professional social media experience, ideally for Bitcoin focused news, media, or fast-paced consumer brands.
  • News judgment: Ability to quickly identify what is newsworthy in Bitcoin, crypto, macro, and regulatory coverage, and communicate it clearly.
  • Platform fluency: Comfort writing and publishing across X, Facebook, Threads, and Instagram, including adapting tone and formatting for each platform.
  • Speed with accuracy: Strong instincts for verification, sourcing, and avoiding errors under time pressure.
  • Writing and editing skills: Crisp, concise copywriting with strong attention to grammar, clarity, and voice consistency.
  • Operational reliability: Ability to consistently work 9am-5:00pm CT, Monday-Friday (and support weekends/holidays as needed).
  • Team collaboration: Clear communicator who can coordinate with editors and reporters, especially during developing stories and shift handoffs.
  • Bitcoin-native: A Bitcoiner who follows the space closely and understands the culture, key narratives, and why credibility matters.

Additional Benefits
In addition to working on a meaningful mission in a challenging environment, we also provide the following:
  • Unlimited Vacation
  • Company MacBook
  • Health, Dental, and Vision
  • Remote First / Your Schedule
  • 100% Paid Life Insurance and Disability
  • Work alongside a talented, fast-paced team solving complex problems
  • The opportunity to connect and network with the Bitcoin industry and leaders in the space.

The pay range for this role is:
55,000 - 65,000 USD per year (Remote)
